I’m often asked, “What is a mini-tummy tuck?” Essentially, a tummy tuck or
abdominoplasty has two roles. One is to take away the excess skin of the abdominal wall and the other is to tighten the muscles. Mini-tummy tuck is for a limited number of patients who have stretched abdominal wall muscles but have minimal excess skin. These patients can be treated with a smaller procedure that does not necessarily require a procedure around the umbilicus or belly button and can often have a much shorter incision at the bikini line.
