I’m often asked, “What is a mini tummy tuck?” Essentially, a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty has two roles. One is to take away the excess skin of the abdominal wall and the other is to tighten the muscles. Mini tummy tuck is for a limited number of patients who have stretched abdominal wall muscles but have minimal excess skin. These patients can be treated with a smaller procedure that does not necessarily require a procedure around the umbilicus or belly button and can often have a much shorter incision at the bikini line.
