The Plastic Surgery Center at Making Strides Walk

pink_ribbonThousands joined The Plastic Surgery Center’s efforts at the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on October 16th at Point Pleasant Beach. They were inspired by the cause, and by the remarks of Dr. Andrew Elkwood, who told the crowd before setting off on the walk:

“When I see patients with a new cancer diagnosis, I tell them we have three important things to do 1. Cure the Cancer 2. Prevent future cancers 3. Get you looking and feeling whole again. But today, forget all of that and let’s just eradicate breast cancer altogether.”

The Plastic Surgery Center was one of the sponsors of the event, which drew 17,000 walkers and raised $1.1 million! The Plastic Surgery Center, together with employees, patients and friends, raised close to $15,000!
