The Plastic Surgery Center offers laser hair removal consultations at all of our locations. During the consultation, your surgeon will thoroughly evaluate your medical history and skin and hair type. They will use this information to determine whether you’re a good candidate for laser hair removal and how many sessions you may need.

What to Expect

Laser hair removal is an in-office procedure. During treatment, your specialist will use the Alma Lasers™ laser system to emit a beam into the hair. The pigment in the hair will absorb the energy from the laser, destroying the follicle so hair can’t grow. You and your technician will wear protective eyewear during the procedure.

A topical anesthetic can be applied to sensitive areas, if desired. Pain tolerance varies, but many describe the treatment as a rubber band snap to the skin. The treated skin may appear slightly red or swollen, but these symptoms resolve within a few hours. Normal activities can be resumed immediately following the treatment.
