What to Expect

Before your microneedling procedure, our expert staff and physicians will provide detailed information about what you can expect before, during, and after a microneedling procedure.

On the day of treatment, your skin will be cleansed with an antibacterial agent, and a topical anesthetic cream may be used to numb the area. Using a physician-designed, FDA-approved microneedling tool, our surgeons and physician assistants make a series of precise perforations on the skin’s surface, opening up "microchannels.”

The impact of these tiny incisions stimulates the release of natural healing chemicals that promote skin cell generation. They also allow healing serums and skin care products to absorb more deeply.

The depth and extent of the microneedle punctures will depend on your desired results and tolerance of the procedure. Your physician may recommend multiple sessions for the best results. Results

Your body's natural collagen production can take several weeks to reach its full potential, though patients often notice an improvement within 24 hours. Following the procedure, most patients report no discomfort but describe a feeling of dryness or tightness in the skin. Skin will appear pink or red for 24-48 hours, and mild irritation may occur. Avoid makeup and lotions for the first 24 hours following treatment.
